Some people have reported getting an error:
Some people have reported getting an error:
- "The update cannot be started",
- "The data is corrupted", Error "IDXFFFFFFFF",
- A later version of the system software is already installed. There is no need to update. (CAAFFFFFCF7),
This is a bug in some of the psp, when running the SCE updater, Davee said, he will release v5.1 to fix this error, so be patient to wait for new version.
If you get an error/fails, should be avoided!! its about some risk like attempting a downgrade.. and wait new an update.
If you get an error/fails, should be avoided!! its about some risk like attempting a downgrade.. and wait new an update.
PSP 6.3x Downgrader has been release by PSP Developer - Some1, The downgrader confirmed to works on a official firmware 6.38 and 6.39 ( HEN or CFw is not needed to downgrade! ), to downgrade to Firmware 6.20 or 6.35. This is a port of Davee’s psp 6.35 / 6.31 Downgrader, and it has been tested on PSP-1000, 2000, 3000, and PSP-GO models.
PSP 6.3x Downgrader uses the utility / power exploit to gain kernel access and reboots into the Sony updater with a special PRX running. This PRX uses the pspdecrypt functionality to decrypt the updater PRX when needed. This allows the updater to boot in the newer firmwares.
You can downgrade to Firmware 6.20 if you have psp hardware module less than 05g, and to Firmware 6.35 if you have 07g / 09g... I guess implies you’re downgrading to 6.35 and do not go any lower. if you do not know which modules your PSP has installed, you can download and run the PSP Module Checker to find out, before proceed the downgrading.

Hey dude, I can get passed the MD5 update error part. I have re-downloaded it about 5 times and no luck. I have a 05g PSP-go. Cheers Bryan
ReplyDeleteIn this case, the OFw does not match / was corrupted.. try downloading a new one. or if you use OFw with the version that is not appropriate.
ReplyDeleteMake sure you OFw version (6.20/6.35) is for PSP-Go, and you're not running any CFw.
Hopefully this help.. :)
Mate you are a champion thanks and good luck with your comp regards Bryan
ReplyDeletecan i downgrade from cfw 6.39 me-5?
ReplyDeleteYes! however, for psp 1g/2g i recommend for use a pandora battery.. because this tool will re-format your flash0 and just not overwrite the system updates. :)
ReplyDeleteJust got downgraded from 6.39 (PSP 3000,4g)
ReplyDeleteI trid to use this, but it just says "Corrupted data" in the game menu...any assistance?
ReplyDelete^^^^^
ReplyDeleteI guess it may help if I say I have a 3000 09g
Find out your psp firmware version, the downgrader only work on OFw 6.3x, or try re-downloaded the new one..
ReplyDeleteI did it from psp 3004 on 6.37, upgrade to 6.38 and then 6.2 and 6.35 = OK
ReplyDeletenow how do I use any cfw on it to play MS games (iso)?

your questions has been answered, please reread the article, for psp 02g its recommended to use DC8 for downgrader and or install CFw6.39ME..
ReplyDeletemine says
ReplyDeleteerror opening ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP what did i do wrong and my module is 04g
i meant to say it says
ReplyDeleteVerifying SCE Updater... error opening ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
Whether you use the right EBOOT? and put the eboot in the correct folder... your psp module is 04g, This means using the 6.20 or 6.35 EBOOT update for PSP 3000...
ReplyDeleteIf you still get errors, try reformatting your memory stick with FAT32 format... :)
Ok...I have the same problem...It says error opening...I did all the instructions and try 5x...What is the problem? Please explain me clearly! Thank u so much...GODspeed!
DeleteGOOD VERY GOOD!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a small issue....mine is a psp go 05g with version 6.60.....i made the folder "UPDATE" as you said with the ofw 6.20....yet when i use the downgrader it says..."a later version of the system software is already installed. there is no need to update"....
ReplyDeletewhat can I do? Need some help guys....sorry to be a bother...thanx
This a missing key issue, and will quit the "updater" You may want to try some things:
ReplyDelete-Makesure you have a seplugins folder is empty, just delete the folder / reformat your PSP system storage.
-Restore your psp to default setting.
-Download v4.1, then try again.
If this still fails, The safe way is to install CFw6.60PRO-B9, its about some risk like attempting a downgrade.. and wait new an update.
Hopefully this help.. :)
Ok so when I select it under games I get this message
ReplyDeleteThe System Software of your PSP is version 6.60 there is no need to update.
with no options besides that. what can i do
@IceHellcat: Re-read the full Instructions carefully. :)
ReplyDelete'this tool will re-format your flash0 and just not overwrite the system updates.'
ReplyDeleteExcuse me. I dun know what this means. Would using 6.xx_Downgrader_v4 (or other ver.) for downgrade make the f0 any different from using only OFW update file for upgrade?
What does 'just not overwrite the system updates' mean?
This depends on the model psp, if you have 1g/2g psp, The best option is to use pandora magic stick(DC) by dark_alex, because it has been full hack included key regeneration even its become full brick. please read about the pandora battery.
ReplyDeleteHi can I ask if my PSP 3004 version 6.37 can be downgraded? And after downgrading, how do I modify it? Thanks so much if you can tell me! :)
ReplyDelete@Kuyo: In this case, you have 2 options..
ReplyDeleteFirst, you can downgrade and install CFw 6.20PRO-B where in this version has the a permanent patch feature is a destination for many people.
The second option, you can update it to OFw 6.39, and install CFw 6.39PRO-B.. This is safer, than the risk of brick.
Downgrader tool has been tested and works well, but did not rule if it ruin your PSP .. so, if a permanent patch is not your purpose, the second option is a wise choice.
Hopefully this help.. :)
HI, I M USING A psp 3000 03g as shown by pepsident , when i try to run downgrader, it takes me till x selection , after i press it , it waits for some time and then says, game cannot be started i dun know wat to do , i m trying to dwngrade 6.35 to 6.20
ReplyDeleteplz help
@zam: Hi, several experienced this when, the EBOOT update was not found, try re-format your memstick and re-copy the EBOOT update, make sure you have the correct update (download 6.20 for psp 3000), extract the files into PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ folder.
ReplyDeleteYour battery power condition is less than 78%, Plug in ac adapter during an update.
Note: The downgrader must be run first! and do not run the downgrader in CFw or Hen installed.
Hopefully this help.. :)

ReplyDelete@Snowman110011: Run the appropriate procedures to reduce the risk of a brick. If you're afraid, proper be avoided..! SRC is the source code for developers, it not used in the process of downgrader. :)
ReplyDeleteIt Loads And Then Says The Game Could Not Be Started What Do I Need To Do I have Version 6.60

ReplyDelete@Snowman110011: Yes, some people have reported getting an error:
ReplyDelete"The update cannot be started", "The data is corrupted", Error
"IDXFFFFFFFF" this is a bug in some of the psp, when running the SCE updater.
Davee said, he will release v5.1 to fix this error, so be patient to wait for new version.
Ok Thanks Alot Ill Keep A Look Out For It!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I have 6.39 Pro On My PSP Can I run The Downgrader And Put 6.20 on There???
ReplyDeleteMay be.. not only that, on the previous dowgrader, psp 07/09G can only downgrading until 6.35... Davee then modify it.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem is not on the firmware, but the module 9g. Suppose you downgrade to 6.35, this might work well .. :)
It Wouldnt Downgrade Will There ever Be A Perma Patch For 6.39 Pro
ReplyDeleteI Will Use 6.39 Pro Until The 5.1 Release The Downgrade to 6.20 With Prema Patch XD
ReplyDeleteIt seems there isn't release a permanent patch until 6.60. Yeah, you have the right choice right now... :)
ReplyDeleteI have a 09g PSP 3001 Slim Model with 6.60 OFW . When i try to run the downgrader I Press X and i wait then it says [A later version of the system software is already installed. There is no need to update. (CAAFFFFFCF7)

ReplyDeleteto psp 1003: Install 6.35PRO.. but the best for the psp 01g/02g is to install 6.60ME by neu0ner.. It has a better capability in its.
ReplyDeleteto psp 3000/6: Be patient to wait for new version.
:)
Can this tool downgrade my psp from 6.60 OFW to 5.50 OFW
ReplyDeleteDepending on your psp module. you can, if you have 01/02g psp module, otherwise are not supported.
ReplyDeleteDo I need to downgrade from 6.60 to 6.20 to 5.50?
ReplyDeleteIf you have 01/02g, you can downgrade directly using pandora or XGEN. download from here.. :-)
ReplyDeleteBut is it possible to do it with just this tool?
ReplyDeleteAnd also, Do I need to have a pandora battery when using XGen
PSP OFW Download links are not working.
ReplyDeleteWith this tool, you might have problems when trying to downgrading lower than 6.20.
ReplyDeleteXgen not required pandora battery if your psp under CFW.!
I try to fix the link. Many do not provide the OFW since sony... Google is your friend for this.. :-)
where to put the src file?
ReplyDeleteSRC is source code for developer, You do not need to install its.
ReplyDeletei have psp go (05g) with 6.60cfw
ReplyDeletecan i downgrade it to 6.20
and i dont want any risk ,i don't want to brick my psp..
Yes, you can downgrade.. about the risks of brick, this depends on the device hardware of psp itself and the process has been made as safe as possible..
ReplyDeleteIf you do not want of the risk, it should be avoided! Reconsider why you want to downgrade, while the 6.60 is better.. :-)
I've tried to downgrade a PSP go from 6.60 to 6.20. I'm starting to think that you can only go from 6.60 to 6.35. Give it a shot and comment back. Also, I think the 3000 has the same problem. As a theory:
ReplyDeletePSP 3000/PSP go from 6.60 can NOT go to 6.20.
Yet ;)
Can people prove or disprove this?
@Bishop: To what version psp can be downgraded is depending on the module rather than on the models... where fw6.35 comes on new modules 7g+, and the psp 3000 has a both module.. :-)
ReplyDelete@Purnomo i have a problem about the "A later version bla bla bla" it wont work in me. i have psp3000 09g module idk why wont work.
ReplyDelete@Marc: Some people experienced with this, This a bug for module 9g, try to restore your psp to default setting, Download v4.1, then try again.
ReplyDeleteIf this still fails, The safe way is should be avoided, its about some risk like attempting a downgrade.. and wait new an update.. :-)

ReplyDelete@Rafi: what is your psp ofw? if you have 1g/2g psp, The best option is to use pandora magic stick(DC) by dark_alex, because your psp has been full hack included key regeneration even its become full brick.. :-)
