  2. @gaurav: you have a semi bricks psp, in this case CFw is not installed properly. You can recover it or re-install again. If you have a pandora's battery (DC8) will be very helpful. Try to follow these steps to recover your psp:,

    1. Boot your psp into Recovery menu, [hold R].
    2. Select menu "Advance" and then select "Fotmat Flash 1 and...". and wait until the psp restart.
    3. This will restore to the latest firmware installed. Ensure sufficient battery power and plug in your ac adapter.
    4. Re-install CFw 6.60ME

This work? If not follow this step..:
    1. Copy Eboot.pbp of CFw660ME to ms0:/PSP/GAME/. [without the folder].
    2. Boot your psp into Recovery menu, then select "Run program at": This option launches a eboot program at boot time.
    3. Follow the on screen to complete update!

Others, you need to make a pandora [DC8].

    :)

  3. Sorry, I mean Copy Eboot.pbp of CFw660ME to ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/. (You can make a folder Recovey all in upper case.. :)

  4. The first step didnt work...formatted flash and tried to update, but said 'Game Could Not Be Started'
then tried the second step, selected the option in recovery menu ,but the PSP just switches on after that
I dont have a pandora battery also :/
I dont know what to do know :'(
    PLEASE TELL ANY OTHER WAY?
SHOULD I INSTALL SOME OTHER FIRMWARE OR DOWNGRADE OR WHAT???

    ReplyDelete
  5. If you do not have a pandora this might work, but I've never tried it...
    1. Boot your psp into OFw [HOME].
    2. Install LCFw 660ME link here... This light version/temporary.
    3. Install CFw660ME again..

In step 1, can you boot the psp as normally? (without hold HOME)

Usually step 1 is successful, because you can boot into the OFW... these signs have been installed. unless, your psp IDstorage is corrupted.

I suggest you try again step 1, before trying the steps above... unless the psp can boot normally into OFW.

  6. psp has 5.50 gen-d (full) model psp 2001. Want to upgrade to 6.60 ME-1.6. wht needs to be done??

    ReplyDelete
  7. no it doesnt work...have to hold home button
    tried installing LCFw,but didnt work
    it restarts,then shuts down
and when i open from the launcher,it says model 01g and exits, and shuts down
    what to do?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Just edit version.txt in Flash0 lower than 6.60. :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. @gaurav: This one definitely works.. I've just TESTED it. This way will downgrade your psp back to 5:50GEN-D3.. Ok follow this step..

    1. Download XGEN v5, and copy the Eboot.pbp to ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/. (Eboot Only).
    2. Download OFw 5.50 and renamed it as 5.50.PBP, then copy it to the root. ms0:/.
    3. Boot your psp into Recovery menu, then select "Run program at":...

This will launches XGEN program at boot time, select to install CFw5.50GEN-D3. When its done, you know how what the next >> CFW6.60ME.

Download all file needed here... and please report back if you need additional information... :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. i run it,then it just switiches off

    ReplyDelete
  11. Put eboot.pbp from XGEN to ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP. is it correct? if this still does not work, it seems only a pandora is the solution..

I'll figure out other ways that might help.. yet there is another solution this time. sorry...

    ReplyDelete
  12. i did...
    hmmm
how do i make a pandora?
try to find other ways if possible :/

    ReplyDelete
  13. Follow this [DC8]., but you need a psp with CFw ready.. You can make the battery jigkick in your recovey menu, but not for magic stick...

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hi gaurav, after I re-read your comments above, I forgot something in the recovery menu > Configuration > UMD ISO mode: select sony np9660.. This may cause XGEN not boot up..

    ReplyDelete
  15. hmmm...
anymore settings that i have to change?
like version .txt or autorun PBP or anything else?
    tried...but no success

    ReplyDelete
  16. Poor gaurav :))

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Kob: You probably know, there are two ways to create a pandora battery, softmod and hardmod.. You can not revert back the hardmoded battery using the softmoded method. So, try again you are researching which method is used.. Here's some guide may help you:

Hardmod: Pandora's Battery without a Homebrew PSP.

    Softmod: Pandora's Battery.... .:-)

  47. @mrmrblakey: If you can Boot your psp into Recovery menu, try to reset first... Select menu "Advance" and then select "Format Flash 1 and...". and wait until the psp restart. This will restore to the latest firmware installed.

Using other flash0 files will have some of key functionality will not work, e.g UMD, Network..

    Pandora Battery Usage:
1.The first Remove the UMD, Battery, Memory Stick, and AC adaptor from the PSP.
2.Insert the Memory Stick ("Magic Memory Stick"), Then, Insert the battery ("JigKick Battery") You prepared into the PSP.
3.Power lights will turn on directly (PSP Boot up), and a menu will appear. Follow the onscreen instructions to reflash your PSP.

  56. I have the 5.00M33 is there any reason for me to upgrade to this version? If I upgraded would I be able to play more psx games that are not compatible with 5.00M33? Would my laggy snes and other emulators run better?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Update version is not required if you still can play the games.. most new games require newer firmware as well.

Psx game does not rely on CFW, but the popsloader plugin, also with the emulator. You better make sure first, whether the emulator / plugin is compatible with this CFW.

  57. Hi there,

I'm having trouble installing 6.60me, the install seems to work fine but when it reboots it just gives me a black screen and then turns off. I can boot into 6.60ofw by holding home button and I can also access the recovery menu. I have a pandora so getting back to 5.00M33 is no problem. I tried several times with different 6.xxcfw but I seem to get the same result everytime, after install when it reboots it just gives me a black screen.

Anyone had the same problem and know of a fix?
