This article will discuss FAQ about the hacking Xbox360, many variations about Flashing, JTAG, and the newer is Reset Glitch Hacks - RGH. But in this article we will focus more on the RGH, where RGH is a new solution to get the DVD key on the drive that can not be dump.. *How many types of the Xbox Hacking? -There are three types, namely:

• DVD Rom Flashed: Install CFW (Custom Firmware) a.k.a iXtreme to Drive with special tools such as X360USB-Pro, in order to read the backup game disc, but this way can not read games from other regions.
• JTAG: is advanced hacking that makes the Xbox 360 can read the game on the harddisk drive without needing a disc anymore. It has the Region free to play games from other regions. To perform JTAG, it takes a machine with a maximum dashboard 2.0.7371 and year of manufacture prior to June 18, 2009, It can be done on Fat/old Xbox360 models.
• RGH: is advanced hacking which the results were identical with JTAG. It can be installed on ALL Xbox360 except Xenon(FAT).. RGH has modified hardware and software, Hardware: with additional modchip such as Matrix Glitcher or CoolRunner and Software: with installing custom dashboard.

*What is JTAG/RGH features?
This hack allows you to run unsigned code also known as homebrews, e.g. Running Applications, Emulators, Linux, File browser capabilities, loaders for XEX (the 360 executable file), Copying and play Games from DVD to/from HDD and much more. Homebrews means software which wasn't made by a large company or organisation, however is simply made at home by a individual or team of people.

• Play Games from Hard Drive or USB devices: There is various application for Homebrew enabled which allows you to launch XEX files as well as convert them to games on demand (GOD) so they could be read straight from the NXE dashboard. These games can then be transferred onto USB pendrive, hard drive or Xbox 360 Hard drive. Some programs which allow you to launch XEX files are XEXloader, XEX Menu.
• Convert Xbox Live Arcade Demos to Full Version: With XM360 (Homebrew Apps) for Xbox360 consoles, you are able to convert Xbox Live Arcade Demos into the real full version thing. Excellent for everyone who enjoys those minigames.

Some of the alternative dashboards are Freestyle Dash and XEXDash.
• READ or CHANGE DVD KEY: There are many motherboards out there where the DVD key has been lost and the motherboard has become useless. With the Jtag hack you could change all of this. This is achieved by flashing Xellous onto your NAND chip. Xellous allows you to view your CPU key as well as DVD key. There is also another application which may help you with this task and is called Flash360.

*When you have the JTAG/RGH, is it still can get RROD?
RROD (Ring Red Of Death) has nothing to do with the JTAG. RROD is hardware problems, But with JTAG, the fan speed can be set, so the machine became cooler.

*What is compatible HDD on JTAG machine?
2.5inch SATA for internal HDD, any brand and any capacity (500GB - tested). and for
External USB HDD: 2.5 or 3.5inch, any brand with FAT-32 formatted.

*JTAG/RGH, can play online?
JTAG/RGH intended to play offline, Dont connect to Live, sure, your engine will get Banned. If you want to live, buy a Xbox360 non JTAG/RGH.

*How to install the game into the JTAG machine? (Internal)
There are multiple ways you can launch your games. First you need to understand that there are 4 different types of game formats for X360 games on a Jtag console.

• ISO: This just means playing the ISO burnt as an image, if you have your Drive flashed. A JTAG 360 cannot play raw ISO files on a HDD.
• NXE: An NXE game is a game LIVE version that you install onto a 360 HDD (From Dash of your console), anyone can do this, even without a modded console, however you need to have the Game inserted when played. With a JTAG the games can be patched with NXE2GOD program to be able to play without the disc any more.
• GOD: Microsoft introduced an online shop that allows people to buy games and have them on their 360 HDD without any disc. With a JTAG console you can convert your games into this format, so you can have all your games on your 360 HDD.
• JTAG Rip: If you are going to attached an external HDD to your console, your games will need to be in this format. If you are using an external HDD you need to use FAT-32 formatted.

Both the LIVE or XEX version, are equally good, but xex version seems to have a size smaller capacity.
From Xbox360 console, there are 3 ways:

• NXE Install: Press "Y" on the dashboard and this will go into Game details, Then press "Install Game". This will dump the game onto your HDD in NXE format, when its done run the program NXE2GOD.
• Freestyle Dash: with the DVD Copy/extract feature, the game will be GOD formats.
• Xex Menu: choose the option "Copy Disc" to the folder you have made, If you have a multi disc game you can rip the second disc in the same folder, and just overwrite the files.

From PC, there are 2 ways: All processes via PC, will need FTP or USB.

• Using ISO2GOD, which will convert the ISO images into a LIVE format. you can copy it onto a HDD, USB, and copy/transfer it into the correct location on your Xbox360 HDD using a programm like XeXMenu. The correct location is: HDD:/Content/0000000000000000/"name of folder iso2god makes"
• Using Schtrom Extract or similar programs such as Xbox backup creator that convert the ISO format to the of XEX format.

For external HDD, you will need to organise your games would be as follows:
XEX format: HDD:\Games\name of games folder\ e.g. -HDD:\Games\GOW\.
GOD format: HDD:\content\0000000000000000\TITLE ID.

*Is it true, with JTAG, we can play XBLA games without buying the games?
This is true, just download XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade) you want, and copy into your Xbox360 HDD, then patch using the XM360 to changed the trial game into Full version, even including DLC will be unlocked.

*How to distinguish between JTAG/RGH machines and Standards(Non Jtag)?
The easiest way is to boot into Xell. Turn on the Xbox360 console by pressing the EJECT button, it will boot to the Xell/Xellous screen. If the standard Xbox, xellous screen will not appear. Make sure the video cable is plugged, Do not use HDMI video cable.

*Is the JTAG/RGH still need to update dashboard or DVD-ROM?

*What is called HDD Hacked?
Hacked HDD is a HDD that is not from Microsoft's factory, e.g, the HDD is SATA 2.5inch HDD WDC branded in a flash with the same flashing tool to flash the DVD-ROM, so it can be read by the Xbox360. Current highest capacity is 320GB.

*What is called the swap / spoof?
Xbox360 console use different brands of DVD drives, from Hitachi, Samsung, Benq and LiteOn. Before Dashboard 2.0.13xxx.0, all Xbox360 drive can exchanged with another brand. For example, the Xbox360 Falcon that has a Benq drive can be installing with LiteOn drives firmware, So that Benq drives as though Lite-on and vice versa. It's called a spoof drive. Spoof requires DVD key from the first drive to be flash to the new drive that will replace it.

However, since the dashboard version 2.0.13146.0, spoof can not be used anymore, because Microsoft tighten its security.. So, if the LiteOn drive is damaged, it should be replaced with another LiteOn drive. If using another drive, the Xbox can not be updated properly. Replacement the drive is called swap.

On the Xbox Slim, the drives can not be in flash, can be swap with the drives that can be in flash. For example, LiteOn DG16D4S 0225 drive with a LiteOn 9504, swap drives requires DVD key from the first drive to be flash to the new drive that will replace it..
